GK SOFTWARE AG, a European technology leader and developer and provider of standard software for the retail sector, has continued its dynamic on-track growth in the second half of the year. According to preliminary figures, the software company increased its revenues by 44% to EUR 10.86 million in the first nine months of 2008. At the same time, EBIT lifted to EUR 2.09 million compared to EUR 1.14 million in the period of the previous year. The EBIT margin thus climbed to 19.3%. During the period under review, net income after taxes increased to EUR 1.48 million. This corresponds to earnings per share of EUR 0.89, based on 1.665.000 shares outstanding on the balance sheet date.

  • Revenues in the first nine months up 44%
  • EBIT almost doubles

The significant improvement in revenues and earnings was due to the broader customer base, more in-depth relationships with customers and the successful implementation of several key projects. This also includes one of the largest IT projects in the retail sector in the past few years, which was successfully rolled out for Kaufhof Warenhaus AG – an end-to-end branch solution – both on budget and on time.

The Managing Board is forecasting significant double-digit growth rates for revenues and earnings for the remainder of 2008. In view of the generally strong fourth quarter, the Managing Board is forecasting revenues of between EUR 14 and 14.5 million for 2008 as a whole, with an EBIT margin on total operating revenue of more than 20%. The full 9-month report will be published on November 28, 2008 on GK SOFTWARE AG's Web site in the Investor relations section.
